Collateral Damage

The dragoness swooped up into the sky, scouting ahead for her regimen. Even from miles up she could see the carnage, a human village being brutally burned to the ground. The sight made her want to cry. Why had this happened? None of the dragon clans had any quarrel with humans, and yet here they were, slaughtering huge masses of people as though they were no better than cattle. And Why? SImply because the humans had stuck there great, ugly noses in where they didn't belong. This was a war of DRAGONS, and yet, now every race under the sun had somehow gotten involved, every race under the sun was dying like this. It was no longer an honorable fight. Neither side of the fighting was making any discrimination between the innoecent the the target. Collateral damage was a given yes, but it was being treated like a necessity. People, Animals, Dragons, everyone was dying in mass numbers, the war had gone on long enough.
